How to Make the Perfect Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso at Home
A few weeks ago, I got my hands on a Bambino espresso machine, and it's completely transformed my coffee game. Today, I'm excited to share a recipe that has quickly become my go-to drink: a homemade Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
I'll be honest—before trying this, I never imagined I could create café-quality drinks in my own kitchen. But this recipe proved me wrong! Using the Black and White Traditional dark roast beans (which came as a free bonus with my Breville purchase), I spent time dialing in the perfect extraction. The result? A drink that rivals anything you'd get at your favorite coffee shop.
What You'll Need:
1 double shot of espresso
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Oatmilk (or milk of your choice)
Ice cubes
Instructions:
Pull a fresh double shot of espresso
Add a few ice cubes to your cocktail shaker
Pour in the hot espresso along with brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well combined
Pour the mixture into a glass filled with ice
Top with oatmilk
Optional: dust the top with a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. The caramelized sweetness of brown sugar, the warm spice notes from cinnamon, and the creamy texture of oatmilk create an incredibly balanced and satisfying drink. Plus, it costs a fraction of what you'd pay at a coffee shop!
If you have an espresso machine at home, this recipe is definitely worth trying. You might just surprise yourself with what you can create!
